Irische Seele
Wenn die sechs jungen Frauen des irischen Folk-Ensembles »Líadan« auf der Bühne agieren, werden magische Momente Wirklichkeit. Für den Bandnamen stand eine Figur aus der irischen Mythologie Pate: Líadan war eine keltische Dichterin, die in ihrer Kunst Stärke und Weiblichkeit ausdrückte. Und auch die virtuosen Musikerinnen von Líadan verinnerlichen das ursprüngliche Irland in ihren Liedern und Tunes, denn sie haben zu Recht erkannt, dass angesichts vieler Innovationen auch noch jemand übrigbleiben sollte, der die reichhaltige Tradition möglichst pur interpretiert. Wenn man eines ihrer Konzerte besucht, ist es, als tauche man tief in die irische Seele. Besonders dort, wo sich die sechs klangschönen Stimmen ineinander verzahnen und verweben – fast bis zu einer choralen Mehrstimmigkeit. Aber auch Tänze, Polkas, Jigs und Reels werden höchst impulsiv und abwechslungsreich auf Akkordeon, Fiddle, Whistles und der Harfe – dem irischen Nationalsymbol – gespielt.

When the six young women of the Irish folk ensemble “Líadan” perform on stage, magical moments become reality. The band name was inspired by a figure from Irish mythology: Líadan was a Celtic poet who expressed strength and femininity in her art. And the virtuoso musicians of Líadan also internalize the original Ireland in their songs and tunes, because they have rightly recognized that, given the many innovations, there should still be someone left who interprets the rich tradition as purely as possible. Attending one of their concerts is like diving deep into the Irish soul. Especially where the six beautiful voices interlock and interweave – almost to the point of a choral polyphony. But dances, polkas, jigs and reels are also played in a highly impulsive and varied manner on the accordion, fiddle, whistles and the harp – the Irish national symbol.
